Every power and electronics calculator you need, in one place
Free calculators for electricity cost, solar, EV charging, batteries and circuits. All 12 tools are 100% free, instant and private. No sign-up, nothing to install.
Find out exactly what an appliance adds to your electricity bill β per hour, per day, per month and per year.
Battery Runtime CalculatorEstimate how long a portable power station, solar generator or 12 V battery will run a fridge, CPAP, laptop or anything else β or find the battery size you need.
Solar Panel CalculatorSize a solar system from your electricity bill: system kW, number of panels, roof area, cost and payback period, and an off-grid battery bank.
mAh to Wh ConverterConvert battery capacity between mAh and Wh, check airline carry-on limits and see how many phone charges a power bank really gives.
Wire Size & Voltage Drop CalculatorCheck voltage drop over a cable run and find the smallest wire gauge that keeps it within limits β for cars, RVs, boats, solar and home circuits.
EV Charging Cost & Time CalculatorSee how long your electric car takes to charge, what it costs, how much range you add and how much you save compared with gas.
Resistor Color Code CalculatorPick the band colors to read a resistorβs value, tolerance and temperature coefficient β or type a value to get its color bands.
Ohm's Law CalculatorEnter any two values and get the other two instantly. Type values like 4.7k, 20m or 3.3.
LED Resistor CalculatorGet the right current-limiting resistor for your LEDs, rounded to a standard value, with the wattage rating you need.
Voltage Divider CalculatorFind the output of a resistor divider, or the resistor you need for a target voltage, including the effect of a load.
RC Filter CalculatorFind the cutoff frequency of an RC low-pass or high-pass filter β or the R or C you need β plus gain and phase at any frequency.
Base Converter & Two's ComplementConvert between decimal, hex, binary and octal at any bit width β signed or unsigned β and copy ready-made Verilog, VHDL and C literals.
Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
Each page explains the formula, gives a worked example and states its assumptions.
Standard engineering formulas, checked against hand-worked examples.
Free online calculators for energy, solar, EV and electronics
WattWise brings together the calculators people reach for when an electric bill arrives, a solar quote lands or a circuit needs designing. Find out what your appliances really cost to run, how many solar panels you need and how quickly they pay back, what it costs to charge an electric car, and how long a power station will keep the lights on in an outage. For electronics, get Ohm's law, watts to amps, resistor and LED values, voltage dividers, filters and number conversions in seconds.
Every tool gives an instant answer, then shows the formula, a worked example and ready-made reference tables, so you can check the result and understand it.
Home Power & Energy calculators
Cut your electric bill and plan your energy upgrades. Work out what any appliance costs to run, how many solar panels your home needs and when they pay for themselves, what it costs to charge an electric car compared with gas, how long a portable power station or 12 V battery will last, and which wire size keeps voltage drop in check.

Frequently asked questions
Are these calculators free?
Yes. All 12 calculators are completely free, with no sign-up, no usage limits and nothing to install. They work on phones, tablets and computers.
How accurate are the results?
Each calculator uses standard engineering formulas and is checked against hand-worked examples. The answer is only as good as the numbers you enter, so use real values from your bill, battery label or datasheet where you can. Results are estimates; have safety-critical work such as mains wiring checked by a qualified electrician.
Do the calculators work outside the US?
Yes. Enter your electricity price per kWh in your local currency and the costs are worked out in that currency (some tools show a $ sign, but the maths is the same, and the electricity cost calculator lets you set your own symbol). Tools that use lengths accept feet or metres, the wire calculator shows both AWG and mmΒ², and the solar calculator lists sun hours for the US, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia and Australia.
Is my data private?
Yes. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
Which calculator should I use to plan solar with battery backup?
Start with the solar panel calculator to size the panels from your monthly kWh, then use the battery runtime calculator to choose a battery or power station that covers the hours of backup you need. The electricity cost calculator helps you find your kWh use if you do not have a bill to hand.
